Queens Head Oddfellows Fund is a local charity fund based South of Maidstone covering the three Suttons.
Their ideal was to find a suitable location to hold a woodland ball to raise funds for Hayley’s’ Heroes a Maidstone based charity supporting young adults with cancer.
A beautiful woodland setting with a pond was sourced, nestled below the Greensand Ridge just between Headcorn and Sutton Valence. So, the next task was to create a suitable environment for a spectacular ball.
Jonathan, the managing director of Four Jays was contacted to come up with a plan and all the right products to enhance the area and after a further meeting the proposal was put to the committee for approval.
The concept was a marquee large enough for a full sit- down supper for 250 guests, a large dance floor and stage for the band and auction, catering tent, green room for the entertainers and of course a sumptuous bar area.
The final icing on the cake was to create an enchanting fairy lit walk through the woods with the marquee to suddenly rise out of the trees magically
Alongside this there needed to be the functional equipment, namely power, food and drinks chillers, a full kitchen of cooking equipment and of course Loos suitable for a black-tie function.
Everything was erected and looked splendid, a venue that sprung out of the trees like a hidden castle.
The ball was a huge success where everyone had a brilliant time and more importantly raised over £10,000 for Hayley’s Heroes.
Four Jays really did our ball proud, the event went like clockwork, looked fabulous and helped us raise a great amount, Thank you Four Jays!
