Portable Toilet Hire – The Basics

Do I need to empty the toilet myself?

No, we take care of all that for you. You’re not permitted to dispose of waste yourself, and our team is fully trained and licensed to carry out the task.

How often is the toilet serviced?

Weekly as standard. If you’d prefer a fortnightly service, we can arrange that.

When does servicing start?

Servicing begins one week after delivery and continues for as long as you hire the unit.

What should I do if the toilet stops flushing?

First, lift the lid and check that the pipes are still connected. If the pickup pipe or filter bag isn’t submerged, try pouring in a bucket of water. Still not working? Just give us a call and we’ll send someone out as soon as possible.

Can I add my own chemicals to the toilet?

We recommend that you don’t add chemicals to our toilets as this will alter the effectiveness of our proprietary treatment chemicals.

Can I dispose of sanitary products or paper towels in the toilet?

No – The toilet paper we supply is designed to break down in the chemicals, other products will block the toilet.

On Site Use

Can I move the toilet after it's delivered?

Yes, just make sure it stays on hard ground and no more than 6 metres from where our service vehicle can park.

Do I need to be on site when the toilet is delivered or collected?

No, as long as we have delivery instructions, access to the site, a contact number, and any additional information that may be required such as gate codes.

How much space should I allow for the toilet?

Each unit is around 4ft x 4ft. We recommend leaving a 5ft square area to ensure safe and easy access.

How many people can a single portable toilet cater for?

We recommend one toilet for every 1-5 employees to stay compliant and keep everyone comfortable.

Is it a legal requirement to have toilets on site?

Yes, employers must provide suitable welfare facilities. You can find more guidance on this at HSE.gov.uk.

Are lights included in the toilet units?

Our standard units do not have lights however we can supply a battery-operated light affixed to the unit if required for a small charge. Our event toilets are fitted with lights as standard.
