The Brief

Four Jays were appointed by Fernham Homes to deliver a full site welfare and storage setup for a new residential construction development in Kent. The project involves 85 homes over a three-year programme, requiring a long-term, reliable solution to support site operations from day one.

Fernham Homes places a strong emphasis on comfortable, safe, and functional facilities for their site teams, recognising that welfare standards directly impact efficiency, morale, and overall project quality. They required a professional, compliant compound with practical working space, high-standard welfare facilities, and secure storage, all delivered efficiently to keep the programme on track.

The Challenge

Setting up a long-term construction site compound at the start of a three-year build presents both logistical and operational challenges. The welfare units needed to be robust enough to withstand daily use while remaining compliant and easy to manage. Units had to be delivered and operational quickly, with a layout that supported efficient management and provided comfortable spaces for breaks, meetings, and daily welfare throughout the build.

The Solution

In November 2025, Four Jays delivered a complete site setup, including six 32-foot static welfare units for offices, meeting rooms, canteens, and toilets, alongside five 20-foot secure storage units for tools and materials.

Four Jays managed the full process from delivery through to positioning and setup, ensuring the construction site was fully operational from day one. The layout maximised usability and efficiency while providing welcoming, practical spaces for site teams, supporting morale and productivity across the programme.

The Outcome

The completed site provides a reliable, compliant, and professional working environment for the duration of the project. Welfare facilities offer comfort and functionality for site teams, while secure storage improves organisation and safety.
